How we pick and rank channels
Next to every channel, Footaz shows a percentage. It is not a rating or an opinion: it is the probability that this channel is the one actually showing the match in your country. Here is how it is set.
Where the information comes from
A listing can reach us three ways. Most often through our rights matrix: one line per competition and per country, maintained by hand from official broadcaster and league announcements. Then corrections entered one by one by the team, each against a dated source. Finally, suggestions from visitors when a channel is missing.
One fixture often has several broadcasters in the same country: the pay channel and the free-to-air one, the TV feed and the streaming platform. We list them all.
What the percentage means
Each origin starts from a different level of confidence: a correction verified by the team starts higher than a matrix line, which itself starts far higher than a suggestion nobody has checked. Visitor 👍 and 👎 then move that figure, with a negative vote weighing more than a positive one: doubt costs more than confirmation.
Above 80 % the listing is green: it comes from a source we have read. Between 40 and 80 % it is amber: likely, but worth a second look. Below 40 % it is red and carries the 👥 icon: a visitor suggestion nobody has verified.
What votes can and cannot do
Votes refine the percentage within its band. They cannot turn an unverified suggestion into sourced information, however many thumbs it collects. Only a source read by the team crosses that line.
This is a design decision, made after seeing that a handful of votes was enough to make a wrong channel look credible. Voting still matters a lot: it tells us which lines to go and check first.
Why one channel appears before another
In a match listing, your country comes first. Within a country, lines are ordered by reliability: sourced information first, unverified suggestions next, and finally the ones a source has contradicted.
A contradicted suggestion stays visible, at the bottom and at a very low percentage, rather than being deleted. Someone took the time to send it: it deserves a visible answer, not a silent disappearance.
Our limits
Rights change, sometimes mid-season, sometimes for a single match. A country missing from our tables is not a country without coverage: it is a country where we have no confirmed broadcaster yet. We would rather say so than fill the gap.
Only the broadcaster is authoritative. If you spot an error, the 👍/👎 buttons and the channel suggestion sit right on the match page, and your contribution is taken into account immediately.
